Does a scythe cut it?
Not sure if a scythe is going to "cut it"? Neither was the author of this article, in which he talks about his first time mowing with a scythe. He uses his new tool to cut feed for his animals, a job for which he was previously using a string trimmer. I like his description of technique: "swabbing a kitchen floor with a spaghetti mop." The author mentions peening after 2 hours of mowing, which I don't agree with. I think one can go much longer before peening, with frequent in-field honing.
The author's experiment was successful, and as he says, and as we like to say at Scythe Supply, his scythe runs on breakfast.
